CONSTRUCTION

Buckle up, it’s about to get technical

FIBERGLASS

Extra strength and lightweight construction with customized fiberglass. RIDE uses different types of fiberglass in the construction of every single snowboard we make. This isn’t a one size fits all solution, so we’ve come up with innovative variations and stitched designs ensure unparalleled durability and consistency.

    1. BIAXIAL GLASS

    90° and 0° angles, fun and forgiving.

    2. HYBRID GLASS

    Triaxial on top, biaxial on base; balanced torsional flex and stiffness for better response with speed.

    3. CARBON INFUSED GLASS

    90° Carbon fibers stitched into the glass. Extra pop and response, without adding extra stiffness.

    4. PRE-CURED GLASS

    USA-made pre-cured fiberglass optimizes glass to resin ratios to create the most consistent flex pattern possible. No other glass provides this level of stability and control.

    5. NEW! GLASS PEDAL

    An additional layer of triaxial glass to increase response and stability for precise control and performance.

    BASE

    RIDE only uses premium base material in the construction of our snowboards. Your base is your connection with the snow, it’s the foundation of how your snowboard rides.

      1. EXTRUDED

      An extruded base is the "reliable workhorse" of snowboard bases. It's made by melting and shaping a solid sheet of high-density polyethylene. Think of it as a tough plastic base. Extruded bases are low-maintenance and less expensive than sintered bases. They may not be as fast as sintered bases, they still offer a quality ride for beginner or intermediate riders. RIDE’s extruded bases are the industry standard 1500 PTEX base material.

      2. SINTERED

      Imagine a sintered base as the "Ferrari" of snowboard bases. It's like a sponge that loves speed. This base is made by heating and compressing tiny polyethylene particles together. It creates a porous structure that can absorb wax really well. This means the board rides smooth and fast on the snow. Sintered bases are tough, durable, and fast. RIDE’s sintered bases are a high-end 4000 PTEX base material

      3. SINTERED LOW FRICTION RACE BASE

      AKA Carbon Race Base. Ok now imagine a car that’s nicer, faster, and more durable than a Ferrari. Like a Supercharged Ferrari. RIDE uses the highest grade carbon-infused sintered base material available. Designed for speed.

      TUNED CORE

      Mixing natural wood with high-energy “uppers” and vibration absorbing “downers” creates a core tuned for maximum snap and feel without sacrificing quality or durability.

      100% lightweight Paulownia wood for maximum performance.

      2. FOUNDATION™ CORE

      Tip-to-tail Aspen wood core with proven durability that retains pop and flex.

      3. PERFORMANCE™ CORE

      High strength Aspen is combined with Bamboo and lightweight Paulownia wood to provide the perfect balance of strong and light.

      4. WMNS PERFORMANCE™ CORE

      Specially formulated for the women’s line, this core combines lightweight Paulownia wood stringers with high strength Aspen. Available on every women’s board.

      5. SPLIT PERFORMANCE CORE

      A mixture of Bamboo, Paulownia and Aspen to create a lightweight and responsive core with RIDE’s exclusive SlimeWall® technology running through the core.

      TOPSHEET

      1. STANDARD TOPSHEET

      Durable Urethane topsheet material with graphics only RIDE can bring you.

      2. TOPLESS CONSTRUCTION

      By transferring graphics directly to the fiberglass, Topless Construction removes the need to have any topsheet material. This process improves overall durability, reduces weight, and uses less raw materials.

      3. ALUMINUM/CARBON

      Racing inspired technology that balances the strength and damping abilities of anodized Titanal aluminum with the stiffness and rebound properties of woven carbon fiber. These two materials have been specifically designed to improve the board’s edge hold, turning power, overall speed, all while reducing weight.

      SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION

      RIDE’s responsive and smooth sidewall technologies level terrain input for consistent filtered feedback.

      1. SLIMEWALLS®

      Forgiving and ductile, absorbing impacts rather than defending against them. Just like your skate wheels, the urethane in Slimewalls® smoothes the interaction with the snow, wood or metal surfaces you may ride on. These babies are virtually indestructible, the most durable sidewalls in snowboarding.

      2. CARBON SLIMEWALLS®

      This totally unique sidewall combines layers of carbon and Slimewall® material, strategically placed from the inserts out to the contact points. This exclusive tech enhances the board by giving more pop, stability, and response while keeping the ride smooth and damp.

      3. SLIM WALLS

      The evolution of our Roll-in Construction to the extreme limit. By creating a fully 3-D composite structure over our Slimewall® material, this revolutionary technology results in more efficient energy transfer, lighter weight construction, stronger durability, and even better damping.

      4. CARBON SLIM WALLS

      Pushing RIDE’s revolutionary Slim Wall a step further, Carbon Slim Wall integrates a full-length Carbon-Urethane composite laminate. Giving additional edge hold, energy transfer, and pop.

      5. METAL SLIM WALLS

      Metal Slim Walls utilize full-length Titanal Aluminum strips laminated into a urethane composite sandwich. Providing superior edge hold, more efficient energy transfer, and unbeatable durability. Metal Slim Walls provide race board performance by damping vibration and maintaining edge-hold while providing a playful flex pattern and responsive snap between turns. This groundbreaking technology is the first of its kind in the snowboard industry and solidifies RIDE as the leader in 3D and composite sidewall engineering.

      6. ROLL-IN CONSTRUCTION

      Unique 3D structure built around our urethane Slimewall® sidewalls. Designed to increase overall board strength, preventing topsheet chipping while reducing weight.

      SHAPING

      Geometry lessons in the making

      SIDECUTS

        1. QUADRATIC

        Blending of three radii to improve turn initiation/exit while providing the best grip possible. This design is uniquely formulated for each model based on its shape and riding style.

        2. ELLIPTICAL PROGRESSIVE

        DDesigned exclusively for the Commissioner, this sidecut combines tight elliptical curvature at the tip and tail to provide low-speed initiation and response with a larger radial section between the feet for high-speed stability and tracking.

        3. BI-RADIAL

        A twin sidecut which allows for the underfoot width of a wide board in the tip/tail width of a standard size. This design provides improved leverage on landings, grip through turns, and stability on flat base.

          4. LINEAR QUADRATIC

          A directional sidecut utilizing Quadratic curvature from the tip to the rear insert pack, then progressing into a linear section into the tail. This creates smooth catch-free turn initiation and powerful support through the turn exit without losing grip.

          5. LINEAR TWIN

          A twin sidecut that allows for the underfoot width of a wide board in the tip/tail width of a standard size. This design provides improved leverage on landings, grip through turns, and stability on flat base.

          6. ASYMMETRIC SHAPING

          Asymmetric sidecut shaping improves heelside turn initiation and control. A sidecut specifically engineered for toeside turns and another specific to heelside makes the board just feels right.

          7. SPLIT TAIL SHAPING

          Split Tail technology allows for more dynamic turn shape and board flex, creating a unique ride in powder and hard pack.

          True twin positive camber dominant shape with a slight rocker zone at the contact points.

          2. DIRECTIONAL EXTRA CAMBER

          Directional positive camber dominant shape with rocker just in the nose.

          3. TWIN STANDARD CAMBER

          True twin positive camber shape, with the rocker zone extending further into the board from the contact points.

          LAMINATES AND CARBON

            1. CARBON ARRAY™

            Widespread carbon stringers, placed at the binding zone, cross over each other and taper to the contact points on the tip and tail This power distribution technology provides total board control, quicker turn initiation, and tortional rigidity. Offered in two levels, CARBON ARRAY 3 & CARBON ARRAY 5.

            2. CARBON SLIMERODS™

            Added liveliness to set RIDE apart from other boards. Using strategic placement in the boards tip and/or tail, this technology adds pop without the stiffness generally associated with snappy boards. Made up of flat carbon rods that wrap a urethane slime-core, Slimerods® have carbon for massive pop and a slime-core to smooth out the landing.

            3. LINEAR CARBON™

            Two stringers of carbon running tip to tail add more snap for bigger ollie power.

            4. SILENCER 5™

            Specially designed urethane layers purify the response from our Carbon Array™ 5 by filtering out vibration for a super smoothed-out, yet snappy feeling.

            5. IMPACT PLATES

            Urethane weaves added underneath each binding area to improve compressive strength and prevent board breaks where it matters most. Offered in two levels, Single and Double.

            6. ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION

            Racing-inspired construction utilizing 5230-T6 Titanal Aluminum for improved torsional stiffness, damping, and control at high speeds.

            STEEL

            RIDE’s Austrian-made edges wrap the entire perimeter of your board for the best delam protection around.

            Just like it sounds, standard edge material. Rockwell 48 C.

            2. CLEAVE EDGE™ STEEL

            Nearly 50% more steel, delivers unmatched resistance to edge cracking and can be detuned to larger radii. More durable edges.
