Style: All Mountain, Powder
Shape: HighRize™
Stance: ¾” Setback
This ultra light Ride snowboard features our HighRize™ shape built with slightly higher rocker in the front than the tail and maintains a loose feel that retains response. The versatile twinish design of this all mountain snowboard allows you to dominate the deep stuff, slash groomers and easily ride switch. Complete with our Hempbrain™ top sheet and all the latest UL techs, you’ll float in pow like you’ve always dreamt, but don’t bother pinching yourself ‘cause this Ride’s for real.
Slimewalls®
Ride’s exclusive Slimewalls® are forgiving and ductile, absorbing impacts rather than defending against them. Just like your skate wheels, the urethane in Slimewalls® smoothes the interaction with the snow, wood or metal surfaces you may Ride on. On top of all that, these babies are virtually indestructible, the most durable sidewalls in snowboarding.
Highrize™
Our most acute rocker profile with a slightly higher rocker in the nose than the tail and is nearly flat under foot.
Hempbrain
Using less material by eliminating the traditional plastic top completely, Ride’s Hemp top sheet is lighter and stronger, and is made from an easily renewable resource that requires little processing. Hemp is fast growing, requires no irrigation or pesticides, and helps clean up toxins from the ground.

This board really stands to its name.
The best use of it is for Slackcountry, freeriding near resorts, in trees and the best is that if the POW gets tracked or chopped it doesn't matter, because this board stomps chopped snow like no other. The Highrize rocker works great in powder, but also on groomers when the tip touches the snow it can carve on groomers quite well for a freeride/backcountry board. Landing a jump is super easy, no catching, overall the board is so playfull an fun also on piste. And it can be ridden also switch.
The edge hold on icy tracks could be better, but thats the only downside of the Highrize rocker.
And yes, its a speed freak no chatter at all solid, but enough flex for playing. So if you want an allround resort board but look mainly for powder freeride and trees, Slackcountry is the one.

Just got back from a 4 day stint in Niseko. Took my new '12 Slackcountry UL expecting deep pow and was disappointed with 3 and a half days of hard pack.
The Slackcountry kept me entertained for the most part, but I kept wishing I had brought by DH2 along.
We had about 10 cm of fresh snow in the afternoon of my final day and the Slackcountry came into it's own. The board was transformed by the modest amount of pow and instantly felt amazing.
In summary, there's nothing stopping you having a Ride Slackcountry as your only board, but I'd suggest taking along a more groomer oriented board for sunny hard pack days.

Just an amazing board, trialed one in whistler last year.. while it's length gives it miles of float in pow it's massive curve means that on-piste not too much of it is touching the snow and it remains responsive. The length (and increased moment) makes it harder to force a turn on, but it cuts through crud amazingly well. makes a great all mountain or offpiste board, and would choose it for hitting large jumps with no rotation on, but for trees and park tricks would stick to something shorter. Perfect for what it's meant for, and great at the rest.

Slackcountry 157
Wow:
I ride a Society 100% of the time... now, I will only be riding the Society on park days. Done deal.
Wasn't sure/scared that there was too much rock and I wouldn't have control; knew I was absolutely wrong after 30 seconds. Rode the board centered and loved every second of it. Perfect switch and reg. I literally feel like I can stomp EVERYTHING at ANY speed w/this board. No joke.
Unbelievable amount of control on groomers and chopity-chop.
SOLD. Been riding for 10 years now- 24yo; think I may have found the end all be all for anything and everything outside of the park. Period. Period period.
Slackcountry went from "yeah, I'll probably save this for 10+inches fresh" to "welp, meet my go-to fun-stick; see ya at the bottom!"
Oh yeah, and YES this board is boss in pow.
