UL CORE

Built to smooth the Ride and lighten the load. The UL Core has tip-to-tail full thickness silencer stringers, placed strategically within the wood core for high strength and less weight.

POP WALLS

This totally unique sidewall combines layers of Slimewalls® material and carbon strategically placed at the inserts out to the contact points in the tip and tail on a twin, and the back inserts to the contact points in the tail on a directional board. This exclusive tech enhances the charging riders’ experience as we have moved the carbon pop construction to the outside edge for better stability and enhanced response.

MEMBRAIN®

Weighing less than half of traditional plastic top sheets, Membrain® maintains a smooth feel by infusing urethane into fabric. Along with pushing limits in the world of lightweight, this process also allows us to push the boundaries when it comes to graphics by utilizing the textures and aesthetics associated with a variety of fabrics.

Carbon Array 5
CARBON ARRAY 5

This power distribution technology provides total board control in every stance location. 5 widespread carbon stringers placed at the binding zone gather input from any stance width and all pressure angles. Rider input is then channeled to the opposing contact point for maximum board control.

Silencer 5

Purify the response from our Pop Glass, Carbon Arrays and Linear reinforcements by filtering out vibration for a super smoothed-out, snappy core.

I have been riding snow boards for the past 25 years.
This is the best snowboard I have ever used. I have
owned ride yukon, burton canyon, burton custom, nitro
boards. Ther is no comparison. This is the best all mountain board I have ever ridden. It performs well in all conditions. It is easy to turn. It is light weight. It is truly amazing. I just got back from park city utah and it performed great.

Comments about Ride Snowboards Highlife UL:

The newest plateau in the "Highlife" of riding from the creators out in the Pac NW gets high points in what I need for an everyday, all-mountain, do-and-slash-it-all deck. From the o.g. RJ's to the Mountains to Timeless's to Kink's to Decade's to Machete's, etc.; the Vashon crew has been doing it right and keeping it core since day ONE back in '92...

This seasons Highlife UL steps up to that standard with ease!

First of all is All-Mtn Hybrid Rocker. If you are not familiar with and/or have not ridden a reverse/hybrid/etc. base profile you don't know what you're missing! Many companies have TRIED their versions of reverse technology and half-heartedly pulled it off. It depends on where and what you slide on... Unless you spend ALL DAY in the park spinnin' to win, there's times when you need a bit of camber to keep the edges dug in on speed runs or to right yourself when the surface gets chattery. But then turn your direction off the slope and into the sidecountry and the deeps, the benefit of a tip/tail with reverse rise shines like gold underfoot!

The Hybrid base answers this call. It works everywhere... From cruddy, groomer dust-on-crust days when I need to rail to fresh corduroy after the mountain crew has done their morning groom to ankle up to waist deep blower pow days; it just does it! No questions asked, it's always on point, no blame to put on the board for pulling the classic rag doll-tomahawk down the trail! One thing that you will notice after making the switch from the camber side; when you have that dreamy pow day and you need to make sure you stay above the snow... NO more running into the lodge to move your binders back and make your board directional. I ride out in sled zones where we get bottomless, untouched pow all the time; since the Hybrid's have come to light I have had all of my decks kept in twinned stance and nary a thigh "burn" has ensued from trying to keep afloat!

The Flex rating comes in at a "7" on the "SNOWBOARD FEEL-O-METER"... During the first few rides it felt slightly stiffer compared to other Ride "7" ratings on previous models, but within a few days of breaking her in, it settled in to a great feel/flex that like the Hyrid base, worked everywhere for just about everything. But the nice thing about Ride's design; it doesn't "continue" settling in until it quickly become a useless noodle within a season.

Ride has been touting the PopRods which allow for an easier transfer of power from underfoot out to the tip and tail. Early designs utilized them closer towards the center of the board away from the edges. A slight variance of that idea takes the rods and places them out into the Slimewalls on the edges where the energy of the rider initially strikes and is needed for the best stability; hence PopWalls! This feature then gets enhanced by the additions of Carbon Array 5 which transfers even more energy out from underfoot to where it's needed then the Silencer 5 SHUTS the chatter up; once again leaving no way to blame the board for failure on slope!

UL base, core and membrane lend a hand in making the board incredibly light, even with my preferred choice of 168W; BUT that does not make it sloppy and unresponsive to advanced riding. Many other companies in my 22 years of size 12/13 boot riding made for a unresponsive PIGs of a board when it comes to weight. Then the UL Steel edges keep it burly and protected against the unplanned and/or purposefully aimed rock/steel/rail/log jib'bonks.

When and if the board is actually seen; i.e. ~ NOT covered with pow or whizzing by at MACH 5; the design and color ways make for my preference of style... "Johnny Cash black" top sheet design coupled with the membrane make for a subtle look tone-on-tone that will let the riders sticker pasting shine for all to see. As for the base graphics; when you lawn-dart in the pow or just flying overhead in the park or on the chair, the die-cut bright yellow base says who you rock for board choices or in the wrong moments... "I'm lumped and dumped in the deeps, PLEASE FIND ME!"

A nice little personal cool-factor is the new Ride "X" logo on the base. Coming from east coast New York hardcore days that was our rebel flag; the X w/ NYHC dispersed over it. Now w/ the X flying the RIDE rebel flag, even better!

Keep on ridin' folks... I'll see you on the slopes!

Comments about Ride Snowboards Highlife UL:

Good all around board. Skied 3 days on one in out of bounds powder, trees, and carve runs. Definitely a solid setup for slackcountry and resort runs. I found it a bit soft for my liking although I realize I am the 1% that likes stiff boards at the limit of dedicated freeride. Aka. Prior, Jones, etc

The base and edges were a little soft for a board that will likely see lots of out of bounds riding. I definitively caused some major damage on some rocks that shouldn't have hurt as bad as they did.

                  Overall terrific lightweight board.

Comments about Ride Snowboards Highlife UL:

The Highlife has enough camber to be responsive but also enough rocker in the tip and tail that it floats and turns like a much softer board. So while I was on a 164 and had all that stability while charging or drifting through powder when I went to turn the board it was like a snappy 150 in and out of the turn but had the 164 edge hold while in the turn. That is an amazing feeling. Finally someone got rocker/camber RIGHT!

Comments about Ride Snowboards Highlife UL:

I've been riding Mervin BTX boards for the past 4 years and while they are amazing I started to miss the feel of camber. I haven't looked at other than Mervin snowboards in such a long time, but my eye started to wander. a shop employee friend of mine was pushing me towards Ride and showed me the Bezerker and the Highlife. Decided on the Highlife due to the slightly wider waist width and stiffness. I would normally not buy a board without demoing, but I decided to take a chance.I must confess the first few times riding this I was not impressed. I did enjoy the dampness, but didn't feel comfortable on it. I was riding Vail this past weekend in a foot of fresh and still wasn't feeling it. After the first few runs I decided it was going on [@] but I still have a lot of riding to do that day. However, as the day wore on and the snow started to get tracked out I found myself riding harder than I can remember. This board is a freaking bulldozer and will blast through anything. This board did not let me down one bit and I started to get real comfortable riding it. I'm not sure why it took so long to get a feel for it, but I'm glad I stuck with it. The float was amazing and the edge hold was surprisingly good, especially compared to MTX.This is the first Ride board I've ever ridden and color me impressed. We'll see how it holds up through the season. This is also the first Chinese board I've ever owned and there are a few quality issues I've noticed with the diecut base, but hopefully it's just cosmetic. Time will tell. All in all I'm very happy with this board so far.
